POSITION: Research Assistant PROGRAM: Research, Evaluation, and Innovation POSITION DETAILS: Full-time, 5-months contract, 1.0 FTE EXISTING VACANCY: Yes LOCATION: Jarvis HIRING RANGE: $33.97–$35.80 per hour, compensation commensurate with experience COMPETITION: 26-021 The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH) is a child and youth mental health centre integrated with the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). GH-CCMH is also a member of the Thriving Minds Mental Health Access Collaborative with CAMH and SickKids and a core service provider in the Toronto sector of infant, child and youth mental health services funded by the Ministry of Health. GH-CCMH provides prevention, early intervention and health promotion services across the city, funded by MOH and other sources. As such, the Centre has an ambitious agenda to provide the highest quality, evidence-based care, offering a range of services from prevention and early intervention to counseling and therapy, assessment and intensive supports. Services are offered in person and in virtual format. Find out more about GH-CCMH. We are seeking applicants for a full-time 5-month contract Research Assistant position. Reporting to the Research Scientist, the successful candidate will support the Centre’s research endeavors, including data collection and progress and outcome monitoring implementation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Data collection, management and basic analysis Interfacing with clients, parents and community members from diverse backgrounds Developing REB applications and maintaining REB records Monitoring project timelines and deliverables Other research support tasks such as conducting literature reviews, developing grant proposals, and contributing to knowledge dissemination Other Complies with the organization’s vision, policies and procedures Performs other tasks as assigned by management Flexibility in work across sites and virtually Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and two years of relevant research experience and/or equivalent combination of education and research experience (Experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable) Strong understanding of fundamentals of research design and research ethics Strong organizational and analytical skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multi-task and accommodate changing priorities Proficiency in research-related software-including Excel, SPSS, REDCap Proficiency in common office software- E.g., MS Office suite, presentation tools, and project management tools Applicants are also expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment This position will require the successful candidate: To be a self-starter who takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision To have curiosity and a knack for problem-solving, and To be detail-oriented ad take pride in their work Interested applicants are asked to upload their cover letter and resume as one PDF document named with last name and first name by August 6, 2026 to: Human Resources – GH-CCMH E-mail: hrrecruiting@sickkidscmh.ca In the subject line of email, please quote the: competition number, position title and where you learned about this opportunity We are seeking applicants internally and externally.
