Its factory-trained service team maintains and services most makes of vacuum pumps and compressed air systems, including Edwards, Kaeser, Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, Gardner Denver, Quincy, and Compair. Sigma Compressor Inc. supports customers across Southwestern Ontario, with a service area that includes Woodstock, Brantford, London, Cambridge, Kitchener, and Mississauga. Role Description This full-time Service Technician role is a hybrid position based in Brantford, ON, with a mix of on-site field work at customer locations and some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and scheduling. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing compressed air and vacuum equipment, performing diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify mechanical and electrical issues, and completing field service calls within the designated service area. The Service Technician will install and commission new equipment, perform routine preventive maintenance, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. The role also involves communicating clearly with customers, preparing service reports, coordinating with the internal team on parts and follow-up work, and supporting continuous improvement in service processes. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair skills, including routine service and preventive maintenance on compressors and vacuum systems. Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues efficiently. Candidates should possess Field Service experience, including working at customer sites, managing service calls, and operating independently in the field. Candidates should possess effective Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and represent the company professionally on-site. Candidates should possess general Maintenance skills applicable to industrial equipment, tools, and work environments. Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the service area. Strong attention to detail, safety-focused mindset, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience with compressed air or vacuum systems and familiarity with brands such as Edwards, Kaeser, Atlas Copco, or similar equipment is an asset.

The technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing compressed air and vacuum equipment at various customer sites. They must perform diagnostics to resolve mechanical and electrical issues while managing service reports and customer communications.

Candidates need a technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance or mechanics. Essential requirements include strong troubleshooting skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to interpret technical schematics.
