Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Prepare rough plans and sketches. Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base. Align and straighten tiles. Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools. Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout. Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles. Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs. Install tile strips. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification. Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures. Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Personal suitability: Accurate.
