Reporting to the Technical Solutions Manager, the Specialist in Technical and Integrated Solutions provides technical expertise and in-depth advice for various lighting customization requests and collaborates on resolving product-related issues to meet customer needs. The Role As a Technical Sales & Integrated Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and application support throughout the project lifecycle—from initial design concepts and product selection through detailed technical development, customizations, and project execution. You will work closely with the internal team, customers, agents, distributors, lighting designers, architects, engineers, and contractors to understand project requirements and develop technically appropriate lighting solutions. The position combines mechanical and electrical expertise, technical problem-solving, product knowledge, and customer support, with a strong focus on developing integrated and customized solutions for complex architectural projects. Key Responsibilities Provide technical expertise and in-depth advice for various customer technical requests and collaborate to solve lighting fixtures customization requests. Analyse and verify the feasibility of customization requests. Stablish prices for modified and custom products Support architects, lighting designers, engineers, contractors, and distributors throughout the design and specification process. Review architectural drawings, lighting layouts, specifications, schedules, and project documentation in order to analyse project requirements and develop appropriate lighting solutions based on architectural, technical, performance, and aesthetic requirements. Assist in product selection, configuration, and application based on project requirements. Develop integrated lighting solutions combining luminaires, LED technologies, drivers, controls, sensors, and other system components. Troubleshoot complex technical and application issues and provide practical solutions. Evaluate product compatibility and system integration requirements. Provide technical guidance related to LED technology, optical performance, drivers, dimming, controls, and lighting systems. Support the development of customized or modified lighting solutions when standard products do not fully meet project requirements. Prepare technical documentation, project proposals, quotations, and application information. Conduct technical presentations, product training, and workshops for customers, lighting designers, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams on product applications, technical requirements, and market feedback. Participate in project meetings and provide technical support during project development and execution. Assist in identifying potential technical risks and resolving issues before they impact project schedules or installation. Stay current with developments in LED technology, lighting controls, building technologies, energy efficiency, and architectural lighting systems. Qualifications & Technical Requirements Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related technical field. 2+ years of experience in architectural lighting, lighting applications, electrical systems, building products, or a related technical field. Strong understanding of LED lighting technology and architectural lighting applications. Experience working with LED drivers, constant-current and constant-voltage systems, dimming technologies, and lighting controls. Understanding of lighting control protocols such as DALI, 0-10V, DMX, etc. is an asset. Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings, electrical drawings, lighting layouts, specifications, and schedules. Strong understanding of lighting performance characteristics including optics, lumen output, color temperature, CRI, beam angles, glare, and color consistency. Experience developing lighting solutions that integrate luminaires, drivers, controls, and other system components. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with customized lighting solutions, special configurations, or product modifications is an asset. Knowledge of relevant electrical and lighting standards and codes is an asset. Experience in working with ERP and CRM systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation. Experience with design software 2D/3D CAD such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, DIALux, AGi32, or other lighting/design software is an asset. Excellent communication and presentation skills. English required; French is an asset. You should be comfortable moving between a technical drawing, a product specification, a lighting design concept, and a conversation with an architect, lighting designer, engineer, or contractor.
