Overview $26.75 / hour This is a unionized position and earnings will be subject to applicable union dues. Employment will be governed pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between the Company and IATSE. In the event of any conflict between this Offer of Employment and the collective bargaining agreement, the collective bargaining agreement will govern. Joining our Canada’s Wonderland team means you’ll provide guests with exceptional service when they visit the park. You’ll also… Assists in the supervision of all technical work at Entertainment Show and Event venues including but not limited to load-in, lighting hang and focus, level set, sound check, daily show/event operation, routine maintenance, and strike Act as point person for daily troubleshooting of technical issues at all Entertainment venues Build rapport as primary liaison with outside contractor companies to ensure technical needs are communicated and facilitated, and safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to Work with other CW departments such as Creative & Event Services to facilitate show and event technical needs Maintain all technical elements as set during the rehearsal/technical period; ensure quality of show or event is maintained to the standard set out by directors and management Notify Supervisors of maintenance needs and assist in equipment maintenance/repair as required. Learn and master all assigned equipment, its operation, and maintenance procedures Take proper care of all assigned equipment and before each use ensure that the equipment operates safely. Conduct daily safety checks and report any damages, malfunctions, and irregularities to management Assist with maintaining an inventory of equipment and equipment accessories. Report any shortages to Management immediately. Ensure effective communication between crew, Supervisors, and Managers Generate weekly schedules for technical staff in collaboration with Stage Supervisors and contractors to meet the needs of the department Provide instruction to technicians on venue specific policies and other relevant technical skills as needed Abide by all Canada’s Wonderland policies and procedures as set out by the Park and the Entertainment Department. Applicants that are currently enrolled in or a graduate from a post-secondary theatre program with an emphasis in sound, lighting, and rigging, or have comparable technical theatre experience Individuals that are organized with proven leadership & communication skills as well as excellent people management & guest service skills Candidates with experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Access Candidates with previous Park experience is an asset Candidates that can work outside in a variety of weather conditions Individuals that are dependable and enjoy the prospect of working in a guest-oriented environment Individuals that are available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
