Reference 26000DEB Responsibilities Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to: The candidate for this role will primarily be managing the Human Resources category of spend and may, on a project-by-project basis, be required to address other categories dependent on aptitude and capabilities. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Lead end-to-end strategic category management for Human Resources spend by analyzing business requirements, spend data, and market dynamics, and developing and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies (“the Plan”) Manage the full sourcing lifecycle including: Commercial and contractual negotiations including drafting and negotiating both legal and commercial terms and conditions in contracts such as MSA, SOW/Schedule, NDA, and etc. RFP/RFI processes Supplier selection Develop and execute multi-year category strategies, with a strong focus on U.S.-based spend, aligned with business priorities Identify and deliver value through: Cost optimization Demand management Supplier consolidation Innovation opportunities Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and enterprise-level negotiations Deliver against defined savings, cost avoidance, and efficiency targets Supplier & Performance Management Manage strategic supplier relationships across Americas, with particular focus on U.S and Canada vendors Establish and lead supplier governance frameworks, including: Performance management Risk monitoring Continuous improvement and innovation initiatives Leverage knowledge of the AMER supplier landscape to drive competitive advantage Stakeholder Management Act as a trusted advisor to senior HR, Finance, and business leadership across the U.S. and Canada Influence decision-making at VP to Managing Director levels Translate business strategy into tailored sourcing and supplier strategies Operate effectively across a multi-jurisdictional and multicultural environment, balancing local, regional, and global priorities (Americas and Paris HQ) Risk & Regulatory Oversight Ensure compliance with all relevant sourcing policies and third-party risk management frameworks across the U.S. and Canada Identify and mitigate contractual, operational, and supplier risks in partnership with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams Ensure sourcing strategies reflect jurisdictional differences, particularly in: Employment and contingent workforce regulations Data privacy laws (e.g., U.S. frameworks, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25) Benefits and payroll structures Profile Required A Vice President – Strategic Sourcing (Human Resources) within Société Générale (“SG”) Americas Sourcing Department supports the overall goals of the Global Sourcing Department in Paris (“ACHA/DIR”) to optimize and control SG’s cost structure while mitigating commercial, operational, and legal risks. This role operates as a strategic partner to senior HR, COO, and business leadership, with primary responsibility for the Human Resources sourcing category across the Americas (Primarily US and Canada). The individual is responsible for defining and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering measurable value through cost optimization, service improvement, and risk mitigation. The position requires a highly experienced sourcing professional with deep knowledge of financial services, preferably supporting investment banking businesses, with an emphasis on Human Resource related purchases (including contingent labor, recruitment, benefits, learning & development, payroll, and HR technology platforms) and advanced expertise in commercial and contractual structures. Additionally, the individual is required to influence senior stakeholders at VP to Managing Director level and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Required TECHNICAL SKILLS Advanced proficiency in: Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities Preferred Experience with procurement and supplier management platforms (e.g., Ariba, Coupa) Required PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 10–15+ years of experience in strategic sourcing / procurement Demonstrated category management experience with HR-related spend Significant experience sourcing within U.S.-based markets and Canada Proven track record in: Complex sourcing initiatives High-value negotiations Contract drafting and redlining (commercial and exposure to legal terms) Preferred Experience in financial services, ideally investment banking environments Exposure to additional categories such as: IT and software Consulting services Market data Legal services Real estate EDUCATION Desired: Business degree or other related experience; Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred Experience sourcing other product/services other than Human Resource related (i.e. Consulting Services, IT products/services , market data, broker dealer, exchanges, legal, office products, OSPs, Real-Estate, etc….) LANGUAGE Required: English Desired: French LANGUAGE: Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
