Optician, Retail Optical

We're hiring to fill a current vacancy, join our team at Optiks International - Kamloops - Victoria Street - partners of solis optics, as an Optician! In this role, you’ll help customers find their perfect fit in a fun, supportive, dynamic and rewarding environment. Make a meaningful impact on people’s lives - one frame at a time. This position is a full-time working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday. What You’ll Do * Deliver exceptional customer service and educate customers on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, ensuring style, comfort, and optimal vision * Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist * Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments * Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens order * Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties * Guide customers in selecting eyewear that combines fashion with function * Support day-to-day store operations and contribute to overall store success * Assist with additional tasks as needed to keep the store running smoothly What You Bring * Minimum one year of experience in an optical setting * Registered Optician in British Columbia * Proficient with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite * Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences * A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player, able to manage changing priorities effectively How You'll Benefit * Competitive wages and benefits with exceptional optical coverage (remove this bullet point for casual roles) * Rapid and ongoing growth, providing a consistently challenging and rewarding environment * A workplace culture that fosters collaboration and teamwork * Continuous training and development opportunities to support your career growth Why You Should Join Us solis optics, a division of FYihealth group, is your neighborhood retail optical shop, offering quality eyewear and experience to match. Must be a Registered Optician in British Columbia with at least one year of experience in an optical setting. Proficiency in MS Office and strong interpersonal skills are required to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
