Our Cobourg facility plays a key role in delivering quality products efficiently and safely to our customers. Position Summary We are seeking a Production Planner to join our Cobourg team. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for developing and managing production schedules, ensuring alignment between customer demand, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity. This position is critical to maintaining efficient operations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules Align plans with capacity, labor availability, and equipment constraints Optimize production sequencing to improve efficiency and reduce changeovers Inventory & Materials Coordination Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of materials Maintain appropriate safety stock levels Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams Communicate priorities and schedule changes to shop floor teams Provide visibility to the General Manager on risks and constraints Collaborate with Sales/Customer Service on delivery timelines Performance Monitoring & Reporting Track production performance vs plan (output, downtime, delays) Analyze variances and identify root causes Maintain accurate data in ERP systems and prepare reports Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy and production flow Support initiatives to reduce lead times and bottlenecks Participate in cross-functional improvement projects Qualifications & Experience Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3–5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling (manufacturing environment preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with Solidworks is required Experience with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills Excellent communication and coordination skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of inventory management and production processes is an asset What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits Opportunity to work closely with site leadership Exposure to cross-functional operations and continuous improvement initiatives A collaborative and safety-focused work environment Why Join Soluroc?
