Senior Software Engineer

Role Description As a Senior Software Engineer at Somi AI, you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power AI-driven products and services. You will write high-quality, testable code, review contributions from other engineers, and contribute to architecture decisions for new and existing systems. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with product, data, and research teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize performance and reliability. You will also mentor other engineers, improve engineering practices, and help drive technical roadmaps aligned with business goals. This is a full-time, remote role. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design. Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in building production-grade applications. Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and database integration. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in large codebases. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Comfort with modern development workflows, including version control (Git), CI/CD, testing, and code review practices. Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with AI/ML-driven products, data-intensive systems, or high-availability services is a plus.

Requires a strong foundation in computer science and proficiency in production-grade backend development and cloud platforms. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is expected.
