Human Resources Manager 📍 Location: Surrey, British Columbia, Canada (Hybrid) 🏢 Industry: Construction 💼 Work Setting: Hybrid Are you passionate about driving people strategies that create high-performing teams and support business growth? We are looking for an experienced Human Resources professional to act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing strategic and operational HR support across diverse workforce environments. In this role, you will help shape talent initiatives, foster employee engagement, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and ensure HR practices align with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Partner with leadership teams to implement HR strategies that support operational goals and workforce planning. Collaborate with managers to identify talent needs, address organizational challenges, and build succession pipelines. Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including candidate assessment, interviewing, and selection processes. Oversee employee onboarding programs and coordinate learning and development initiatives for new hires. Manage the performance management process, including goal setting, development planning, feedback discussions, and annual reviews. Serve as a key advisor on employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations and providing guidance on corrective actions where required. Work closely with labour relations stakeholders on grievance handling, collective agreements, negotiations, and workforce-related strategies. Coordinate compensation and benefits activities, including salary reviews, incentive programs, and job evaluation processes. Analyze and report on HR metrics, trends, and workforce insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. Champion workplace health, safety, and environmental standards while promoting a strong culture of employee well-being and compliance. What We're Looking For Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Experience 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including HR Business Partner and Generalist responsibilities. Proven experience supporting business leaders in talent management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Exposure to organizational development and change management practices. Experience working in unionized environments is highly preferred. Professional Qualifications HR certification or equivalent professional designation is considered an advantage. Technical Skills Proficiency with HRIS platforms and business productivity tools. Strong analytical skills with experience preparing HR reports and workforce metrics. Key Competencies Strong leadership, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Sound judgment with the ability to navigate organizational complexities and sensitive workplace matters. Ability to build trusted relationships with employees and business leaders at all levels. Willingness to travel as required to support business operations.
