Soul Café | Soul Centre Company Soul Café | Soul Centre Location 474 College Street, Suite 401, Toronto, ON M6G 1A4 Workplace On-site Employment Part-time | 12-month fixed-term contract Compensation $19.00 CAD per hour Schedule Variable part-time shifts, including morning/opening and afternoon/closing coverage. Customer-facing hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am-4:00 pm. About Soul Centre Soul Centre is an integrated Toronto wellness destination that includes Soul Spa and Soul Café. Our team supports a professional, organized, client-focused environment across wellness, aesthetic, administrative, and café operations. About the role Café Staff provide front-line customer service and practical support for Soul Café. Team members may be assigned opening, daytime, or closing duties and are responsible for serving customers, stocking products, maintaining displays, handling POS transactions, and keeping service areas clean and organized. What you will do • Prepare café and customer-service areas for opening when assigned. • Serve customers, answer routine menu questions, and process approved POS transactions. • Serve and replenish food and beverages in accordance with established procedures. • Stock food, beverages, packaging, condiments, and operating supplies throughout the shift. • Set up and maintain clean, organized food and beverage displays. • Monitor freshness, product rotation, expiry dates, and required holding temperatures. • Store and rotate food correctly and follow established nut-free and food-safety procedures. • Clean and sanitize service, preparation, equipment, and customer-facing areas. • Complete assigned opening or closing duties and organize the café for the next operating period. • Report low stock, damaged products, customer concerns, hazards, or equipment issues to the Café Coordinator or Café Assistant. What you bring • Customer-service, retail, café, restaurant, or food-service experience is an asset but not required for strong entry-level candidates. • Professional, dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a customer-facing environment. • Ability to follow food-safety, sanitation, cleaning, and stocking procedures consistently. • Comfort learning and using a POS system. • Food Handler Certification is an asset; required training will be provided or assigned where necessary. • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine stocking, cleaning, and light lifting. • Availability for a mix of weekday and Saturday shifts is preferred. Employment terms • This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term, part-time employment contract. The parties may begin renewal discussions around month 10, or at another mutually agreed time. Renewal is not automatic and any extension or renewal must be confirmed in writing. Employment, including any early termination, will be administered in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and other applicable Ontario law.
