Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities: * Responsible for the health and safety of the employees and the overall HSE performance of the work being performed under your supervision. * Ensure work is performed within the HSE Management system, to ensure a high level of health and safety, Environmental stewardship and quality products and services. * Conforms with all regulatory compliance requirements. * Train and coach employees on SOPs, and ensure that rules, and requirements are in place, understood and practiced. * Manages the day-to-day operational risk and ensure operations are working in a safe and compliant manner. * Respond to HSE events to ensure proper emergency response and reporting to management. * Participates in accident/incident investigations as required. * Authority to stop tasks if it is deemed unsafe or the risks are not fully known. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Understand the plant process, monitor quality samples, and analyze information. Use reason to address issues and problems. Summarize and communicate findings with appropriate staff. * Supervise and manage production staff to include performance management, progressive discipline, attendance tracking, time-card accuracy, safety awareness, and employee development. * Ensure team is properly task trained on equipment prior to work being performed. * Monitor quality samples and adjust systems as needed. * Monitor and maintain all work areas including, but not limited to ponds, roadways, WIP areas and production areas. * Help employees achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring and evaluating job results. * Build a cross-functional team by ensuring staff are cross-trained in various positions/departments. * Ensure timely and accurate completion of production reporting. * Perform plant inspections, address issues, and report information to Lead Supervisor. * Operate equipment, within scope, which may include skid steer, man lift, loader, Company vehicles, etc. * Communicate and assist with other departments as needed; ie.QA/QC, Maintenance. * Drive for continuous improvement initiatives and implement cost saving strategies and techniques. * Other duties as assigned.
