Position: Life Skills Instructor- Discovery Location: Newton and Community Hours: 30 Hours Salary: 26.78 to start Start Date: September 8th, 2026 We are looking for a Permanent Part-Time Community Living Worker to join our Life Skills Center team! Description Of Position Reporting to: Life Skills Assistant Managers and Community Inclusion Manager Sources Community Living provides all-encompassing care for individuals who have been referred to us by Community Living British Columbia. We are currently recruiting for a Life Skills Instructor to work in our Discovery day program providing meaningful daytime activities and life skills supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to enable the pursuit of the best quality of life possible for our clients. We do this by fostering independence, well-being and social participation. General Responsibilities build relationships coach and guide aid and support work as a collaborative team Program-specific Responsibilities keep notes and review progress Maintain a safe work environment for both staff and service users alike, including following and monitoring all positive behaviour support strategies as they apply to clients in service. This includes being confident and familiar with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention material. Physical Demands Of Job Lifting/Pulling/Pushing - 50%, Walking/Moving Around - 75%, Sitting - 25%, Time spent outside - 50%, Bending/Crouching - 25% Cognitive Demands Of Job Independent Work - 50%, Task Memorization - 25%, Changing Priorities/Deadlines - 50%, Writing/Reading - 50% Qualifications You have empathy and are self-aware Take initiative and work with integrity You have the physical ability to engage in a variety of home and community-based activities You are knowledgeable or have experience in areas of mental health and intellectual disabilities You have a valid Class 5 driver's license and are required to obtain a Class 4 driver's license within 1 year. Provide meaningful daytime activities and life skills support to adults with developmental disabilities to foster independence and social participation. Responsibilities include maintaining progress notes and implementing positive behavior support strategies in a safe environment.

Candidates must have experience or knowledge in mental health and intellectual disabilities and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license. Physical ability to engage in community activities and a commitment to empathy and integrity are required.
