HAIRDRESSER Home: Hope Street Terrace, Long Term Care Location: Port Hope, Ontario Salary Range: Contract to hire Status: Part Time Reporting To: Recreation Manager Southbridge Care Homes provides exceptional acquisition, management, and redevelopment services for long-term care homes and retirement communities across Ontario. We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and reliable Hair Stylist to provide salon services to residents in a long-term care home on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with seniors and takes pride in helping residents feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. Key Responsibilities Provide professional hair services including: · Haircuts · Shampoo and styling · Blow-drying and setting · Basic barbering services · Hair colouring and other salon treatments (if qualified and requested) · Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff. · Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary salon environment. · Adhere to all health, safety, and infection prevention and control standards. · Schedule appointments and manage resident service requests. · Supply and maintain personal professional tools and equipment. · Process payments and maintain service records, as applicable. · Demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with seniors, including those living with physical or cognitive challenges. Qualifications · Licensed Hairstylist in good standing (where required by provincial regulations). · Previous experience as a Hair Stylist, preferably working with seniors or in healthcare, retirement, or long-term care settings. · Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. · Ability to work independently and manage appointment scheduling. · Knowledge of infection prevention and salon sanitation practices. · Must be independently insured and maintain professional liability insurance throughout the term of the contract. · A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date. · TB screening documentation as required under the Southbridge Care Homes’ Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Policy We would like to thank all applicants for your interest in working as part of our team!
