We are currently looking for an experienced Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerk who is interested in a rewarding career in education. Note: This is a casual hourly role with an end date. How You'll Contribute Provide a high quality of education for students. Prepare and deliver lectures, practical demonstrations, lesson plans, and learning activities to students enrolled in the program. Evaluate student progress and achievement through examinations, assignments, practical assessments, and other course requirements. Prepare, deliver, and grade assessments in accordance with the approved course outline, including established assessment weightings and final grade deadlines. Facilitate student achievement through mentorship, ongoing support, guidance, and coaching. Promote professionalism and create an open, inclusive learning environment that supports student success. Identify students who may require additional support and follow established processes, including Early Support referrals where appropriate. Update and contribute to course outlines, learning outcomes, curriculum, and program review activities. Collaborate with faculty colleagues to support consistency across courses and sections. Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment. Provide feedback and participate in continuous program improvement and development. Participate in program and department meetings, orientations, training, and professional development activities. Deliver courses using SAIT-approved delivery tools and learning management systems and adhere to the approved delivery mode. Stay current with emerging pedagogical practices, educational technologies, and relevant industry practices. Arrange and coordinate practicum placements as required and provide ongoing support to students while on practicum. Respond to student inquiries and requests for information from the Academic Chair within established timelines. Promote and support SAIT’s strategic and academic plans and adhere to SAIT policies and procedures. What You Bring Related post-secondary education and a background working in a health care setting. Minimum of 3 years of recent experience. Experience working within a hospital or acute clinic setting is an asset. Previous teaching experience is preferred as are additional educational qualifications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment. Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Electronic Medical Record, use of the internet and communication software is required. Applicants must have a flexible schedule to accommodate the students’ timetable. Verification that a recent Police Information Check in compliance with Alberta Health Services, has been passed successfully. Record of immunizations.
