Résumé du poste
About Speer Speer is a Toronto-based technology hub that designs and builds software, platforms, and digital products for ambitious companies. We call our partners collaborators, never clients, and we build technology that is defensible and commercially meaningful, with intellectual property strategy built in from the start. Our tagline says it plainly: reframe the future. We are building a connected, in-house sales and marketing team, and we want one more strong person on it. The Role You are a fearless, high-energy Business Development Representative who is ready to pick up the phone, start conversations with people who have never heard of us, and turn cold opportunities into real business. This is a role for someone who wants hands-on sales experience, strong commission upside, and a clear path toward sales leadership. Speer brings the tools, the target accounts, and the support. You bring the energy, curiosity, and resilience to execute. This role is fully in-office at our downtown Toronto location, near Union Station. We are prioritizing attitude, resilience, and cultural fit over a polished resume. Backgrounds in retail, service, hospitality, or other customer-facing sales are welcome if you can show hustle and ambition. Responsibilities Make a high volume of cold calls and multi-channel outreach to prospective clients using company-provided target lists. Start conversations, qualify interest, and identify real business opportunities. Manage and respond quickly to inbound leads generated by marketing, and share lead-quality feedback back to the marketing team. Keep CRM and tracking tools current with activity, opportunities, and results. Work closely with the sales team to refine outreach and messaging. Attend and represent Speer at company-hosted and industry events, and start conversations with prospects and partners in person. Learn Speer's services well enough to communicate their value clearly and confidently. Take on more ownership as you go: building your own target lists, personalizing outreach, and contributing to sales strategy. Qualifications Comfort with cold calling and high-volume outreach. Strong verbal communication and genuine comfort talking to new people. Resilience: you can handle rejection and keep your energy up. Ambition, and a real interest in building a sales career. Willing and able to work full-time from our downtown Toronto office. Able to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment. Motivated by commission and performance-based earnings. Nice to Haves Previous cold-calling or cold-outreach experience. Experience in a startup or scaling company, or selling a service rather than a product. Experience in a high-volume sales environment. Familiarity with a CRM and tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Apollo, or ZoomInfo. Evidence of leadership potential or quick past progression. Marketing exposure, or experience collaborating with marketing teams. Compensation Full-time, Monday to Friday. Fully in-office, downtown Toronto. Pay Range: $50,000 to $100,000 base, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive commission structure paid on top of base. Comprehensive benefits, including dental care, vision care, paid time off, and a wellness program. Why Speer Build, do not inherit: join a small, ambitious team and help build the sales function rather than slot into a rigid corporate process. Real support: target lists, tools, and hands-on guidance from day one, working directly with sales and leadership. Learn both sides: inbound and outbound business development, alongside a new marketing manager. Earn: competitive base plus commission on top, with strong upside for performance. Grow: a genuine path toward sales management for strong performers, positioned as an earned opportunity rather than a guarantee. Does this sound like you? If you are ambitious, comfortable picking up the phone, and ready to build a sales career, apply now!
