Backed by a fifth-generation family-owned company, Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment. We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 13 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites. We are currently looking for a full-time Warehouse and Distribution Manager located in Richmond, reporting to the Vice President, National Operations. Your Challenge Under the supervision of the Vice President, National Operations, the duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse and Distribution Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead all warehouse and distribution centre operations, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and delivery. Manage and develop supervisors, warehouse associates, drivers, and support staff. Ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, housekeeping, and operational excellence. Coordinate workflow and resources to optimize productivity, service levels, and operational efficiency. Establish and maintain effective warehouse layouts, storage systems, and inventory management practices. Monitor productivity, accuracy, and delivery performance through operational KPIs. Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to meet customer expectations and business objectives. Manage staffing requirements, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management. Oversee facility maintenance, building security, and contractor relationships. Lead workplace health and safety initiatives and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and cost control. Champion Spicers' Core Values and Leadership Principles. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field. A minimum of 5-8 years of warehouse and distribution experience, including leadership of large operational teams. Proven experience managing receiving, inventory, shipping, and transportation functions. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, and customer service practices. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop employees. Experience with performance management, employee relations, and workforce planning. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience in paper, packaging, industrial, or distribution-related industries. Forklift and reach truck certification. WHMIS certification. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification. Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS) and operational reporting tools Working Conditions Regular presence within the warehouse and distribution environment. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasional flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends when operational requirements demand.
