Lawson Parkwood Institute Main - London, ON Temporary Full Time Salary Range: $26.59 - $33.24 /hour This is a temporary full-time position that is expected to extend until approximately Aug 10, 2027, (with potential for renewal), subject to the availability of work. The successful applicant will be working under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Montero-Odasso, Director of the Gait & Brain Lab, a vibrant and busy hospital-based laboratory implementing clinical studies with older adults. The Research Assistant 1 will work within a multi-disciplinary research team at Parkwood Institute on research studies related to mobility and cognition in older adults. As a Research Assistant 1, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of various research studies focused on mobility, cognition, and healthy aging in older adults. The successful incumbent will join a recently funded national virtual interventional trial aimed at improving mobility and cognition through personalized lifestyle interventions. Responsibilities may include assisting with patient screening, recruitment of study participants, scheduling visits, conducting study participant interviews and/or assessments, data entry and analysis, literature review and providing administrative support to the research team. Performs well-defined routine assessments on study participants. Essential Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Health sciences or health related field Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research principles Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Strong problem-solving skills, and strong ability to multi-task Ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team setting Self-directed, creative, innovative, and detail-oriented Proficiency in data management, and experience with software such as Excel and Power Point Quantitative measurement skills including knowledge of analytic procedures Preferred Qualifications Clinical Trials Management program or equivalent Three years related research experience Experience working with a geriatric population Immunization Requirements Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza. Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing

The Research Assistant will support day-to-day operations of studies focused on mobility, cognition, and healthy aging in older adults. Key tasks include participant recruitment, conducting assessments, data entry, and providing administrative support to the research team.

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or a related field and proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research principles. Preferred qualifications include a Clinical Trials Management program and three years of experience with geriatric populations.
