Duties & Responsibilities Performs and troubleshoots repairs to the following: various patient equipment including beds, stretchers, patient lifts, wheelchairs and IV poles; sterilizers and autoclaves; medical vacuum and air systems; specialized dietary and kitchen equipment, PRV'S, sump pumps, steam process equipment. Performs routine preventative maintenance on the above. Liases with the Clinical Leader/Manager and departmental equipment managers to identify Engineering services required. Coordinates external service requirements. Responsible for applicable code and proper documentation of the above. Qualifications Community College diploma or certification in electronics and/or equivalent experience working with complex dietary and kitchen equipment. Steam Fitter's certification preferred. Stationary operators / 4th class Operating Engineer / Power Engineer certification preferred Knowledge in sump pumps, steam equipment, autoclaves and sterilizers. Work experience in a Hospital/Health atmosphere an asset. Minimum 2 years experience in the field of electronics or equivalent. Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance/mechanical field. Minimum 2 years experience with sterilization equipment and a sound knowledge of related CSA code. Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with specialized kitchen equipment. Minimum 3 years experience with the repairing and troubleshooting of Hospital Medical vacuum air. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle complex situations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a safe and courteous manner. Exigences
