StackTeck supplies a wide range of injection molds and IML automation used to produce plastic parts in applications such as caps, closures, medical, PET preforms, and thinwall packaging; as well as complete system integrations including IML. StackTeck has dedicated R&D, testing and part sampling facilities, in addition to plastic part design, prototyping, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities. StackTeck Systems Ltd. is located 8 km north of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. SUMMARY The position of Junior Estimator/Inside Sales is responsible for generating and processing customer requested quotes on a timely basis, for standard and custom components for the Molds & Automation divisions. The Junior Estimator/Inside Sales will also facilitate all web-based communication, orders and requests. This role reports to the Commercial Manager and is a key role within the department. Employee Assistance Program MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Takes responsibility for all incoming communication, either by phone, e-mail, fax or web-based, with customers, with respect to spare parts and custom components for the Molds (including PET) & Automation divisions. Generates estimates which include price and timing for requested parts. Works closely with Sales team in developing quotes that will result in profitable orders for custom and standard component requests. Prepares timely estimates of costs of materials, labor, and equipment for manufacturing projects based on 3D models or 2D drawings, and customer specifications. Prepare ‘time and material’ quote requests as required. Works with Engineering staff, Accounting and Program Managers to confirm that parts requested by customers meets the desired outcome. Work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, manufacturing, planning, scheduling, supply chain and logistics to identify and resolve manufacturing, costing and shipping issues for standard and custom component orders. Spend time with the mold estimators to learn, gather experience and help with complete mold quotes. Maintains standard part price list. Participate in continuous improvement projects. Verify shipments to ensure we are delivering a great customer experience. Act as a backup for Program Managers as/when necessary. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE College diploma or university degree in a technical or engineering-related discipline is preferred; Mechanical Engineering Technology would be considered an asset. 2+ years of recent experience in inside sales an asset, preferably in the injection molding industry. Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Familiar with all manufacturing processes, in a mold manufacturing environment, to ensure accurate quoting is performed. Ability to clearly communicate technical aspects of mold components to sales and engineering teams as well as customer representatives. Exposure to machining practices, process planning and sub-contracting experience for quoting. Strong understanding of business concepts; gross margins, currency conversion, job costing. Intermediate level competency with MS Excel COMPETENCIES Effective communication skills with a customer focused attitude. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with an attention to detail. The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 annually. Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, job-related factors, and shift worked.
