Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Class 1 freight hauler, based in Edmonton, AB, with some work-from-home activities possible for administrative or scheduling tasks. The role involves operating Class 1 vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring loads are properly secured. Day-to-day tasks include following designated routes, maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation, communicating with dispatch and customers, and complying with transportation regulations. The freight hauler is expected to manage schedules, report equipment issues promptly, and support a culture of safety and professionalism on the road and in the yard. Qualifications Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record and familiarity with regional and long-haul routes. Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations, load securement practices, and vehicle inspection procedures. Ability to maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, and other required documentation. Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, customers, and team members. Capability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing schedules and conditions. Comfort using basic technology (e.g., GPS, electronic logging devices, dispatch systems) to support daily operations. Physical ability to handle freight-related tasks such as climbing into vehicles, handling equipment, and working in varying weather conditions. Previous experience in freight hauling or commercial driving is an asset; safety-focused training or certifications are beneficial.
