An opportunity exists in Stantec's Ottawa, ON office for a highly motivated Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role you will be responsible for the design and execution of projects ranging in size and complexity, with a focus on municipal, federal, industrial, healthcare, commercial and educational projects. The successful candidate will also assist in developing and maintaining new and existing clients, and satisfying customer requirements. Responsibilities * Prepare engineering designs from conceptual design, through tender to construction. * Prepare detailed design calculations, technical specifications, and engineering drawings for concrete, steel, masonry and wood building structures and technical inspection and condition assessment reports. * Manage construction administration activities effectively, including timely responses to RFIs, change orders, and site inquiries while meeting project deadlines. * Work with team members in determining viable solutions for design issues. * Work to and meet project timelines and budgets. * Coordinate design work with other disciplines, other offices, and other project team members. * Support Construction Administration personnel, including: field reviews and co-ordination, review and issuance of change orders, clarifications and RFI responses on an occasional or as required basis. * Coach Junior Staff members informally or through formal presentations. * Participate in business development activities. * Assist the management team in developing tools and techniques for the execution of daily duties.

Exigences
Candidates must have at least 8 years of post-graduation experience in structural design and hold a Professional Engineer registration in Ontario. Proficiency in structural analysis software and a thorough understanding of Canadian building codes and standards are required.
