Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Technician (Journeyperson/Red Seal) based in our Edmonton, AB branch. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required. JOB TYPE: Full-time hourly position, unionized. Field and shop work required. LOCATION: 2440-76 Ave, Edmonton AB, T6P 1J5, Canada. HOURS: Monday through Friday, within business operating hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM MST (40 hour/week). Overtime will be required as needed. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and trailers efficiently. Perform mechanical inspections including Commercial Vehicle inspections. Utilize testing equipment to identify issues. Address outstanding repairs promptly. Order parts and track fleet maintenance in the Sterling Crane Preventative Maintenance Program. Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work order formats. Qualifications Journeyperson/Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required. Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required. Commercial vehicle inspection license or willing to enter the CVIP program The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team. A strong working knowledge of Liebherr, Grove, Tadano, Broderson and Kobelco crane manufacturers is an asset. Must supply own hand tools, a valid class 5 driver’s license; class 1 or 3 is considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 955 or become a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. Important Successful applicants must be local to the Edmonton region. As a safety-sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates successfully pass pre-employment testing that may include Drug and Alcohol screening.
