Join an established, global non-profit organization as the Controller in this full-time, permanent role. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller oversees financial operations, reporting, internal controls, and compliance to ensure strong financial governance and effective stewardship of organizational resources. The role leads year-end audit activities, supports the preparation of external financial statements, and drives improvements to financial processes and systems. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and adaptable finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. They are highly organized, communicate effectively, and bring strong judgment, professionalism, and relationship-building skills to their work. Main responsibilities include: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team through effective performance management, training, and workload planning Oversee financial operations, including accounting processes, reconciliations, internal controls, and process improvements Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, employee expenses, and cash management activities Oversee payroll-related financial processes and maintain appropriate controls Support financial reporting, month-end and year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and annual audits Partner with internal teams to strengthen financial processes, systems, and compliance practices Bring your expertise in financial leadership and governance to support the organization through an important period of growth and continued improvement. Qualifications The main qualifications for this role include: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field CPA or similar certification is an asset 5+ years of experience in financial management or accounting, including experience with nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and managing project finances Comfortable using financial systems and tools such as PeopleSoft and Excel Excellent communication and relationship-building skills How You Will Be Rewarded: $95,000 - $105,000 annual salary range Group insurance 3 weeks’ vacation Remote work environment RRSP matching Location: Ottawa Internal Job ID#: 5070 Recruiter Name: Tracey Windsor
