The successful candidate is a senior technical professional with a broad knowledge of IT infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft Enterprise products. The incumbent is responsible for the design, delivery and operations of Stikeman Elliotts technology infrastructure and services for all offices (domestic and international). The incumbent will participate in and lead implementations, upgrades and the day-to-day operations of solutions for a variety of infrastructure systems including on-prem network, storage, compute, cloud, and SaaS. The successful candidate may be required to work outside of regular business hours based on project and operational requirements. Reporting Relationship: This role reports to the Manager, Infrastructure & Cloud Services, based in the Toronto office. Key Responsibilities: * Work with Stikeman Elliott Enterprise Architecture to Translate high-level technology decisions/concepts into system designs/blueprints and tactical build/deployment plans, with a focus on Azure-based infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments * Design, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and related compute/storage/networking resources across the Azure Platform * Administer and maintain Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including hybrid identity (Azure AD Connect), Conditional Access Policies (CAP), MFA, and identity governance * Administer Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), including management pack tuning, alert threshold configuration, and noise reduction to ensure alerts are actionable and prioritized correctly * Review and optimize existing monitoring configurations to reduce alert fatigue and improve signal-to-noise ratio across infrastructure monitoring * Perform deployment, testing, and support activities for Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud services * Plan and execute implementations including coordinating activities with other teams across the Firm * Create and maintain technical documentation (architecture diagrams, runbooks, configuration standards) to ensure efficient planning, execution, and ongoing support * Provide ongoing administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Azure environments, including cost optimization and performance tuning * Follow operational policies and processes that are compliant with ITIL and ISO standards * Participate in change management activities * Work closely with the cyber security team to secure infrastructure and servers * Conduct scheduled system maintenance activities, including patching and updates across Azure and on-premises infrastructure Job Specifications: Education and Experience Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related field preferred * Minimum of 10 years of experience in an Information Systems-related field as a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist. * Minimum of five years of hands-on experience designing and managing Azure environments, Microsoft Teams, and the Microsoft Power Platform. Demonstrated experience tuning SCOM alerting to reduce false positives and alert noise, beyond standard deployment and administration. * Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) certification preferred; Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) required at minimum Qualifications: * Mid-Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including: * Azure Virtual Machines (deployment, scaling, availability sets/zones, backup, and disaster recovery) * Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) - hybrid identity, Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, app registrations * Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) - host pools, session hosts, FSLogix profile management * Azure Networking - VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall * Microsoft Teams voice and Power Platform Azure Storage (Blob, Files, managed disks) and Azure Backup/Site Recovery * Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Security Center/Microsoft Defender for Cloud * Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform) an asset * Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) — management pack configuration/tuning, custom alert rules, override management, notification channels, health model troubleshooting * Exchange Online and Exchange Online Archive * On-premises Active Directory and related services * Non-Microsoft technologies such as Veeam, VMware, Nutanix, dHCI, VM Essentials, etc.PowerShell (required — scripting and automation across Azure and on-premises environments) Nice to have * Experience with ServiceNow * Networking knowledge (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto) Salary Range (Toronto Only): $100,000- $120,000 annually.
