The Fuel Bay Attendant is responsible for fueling, cleaning, and performing routine maintenance on transit buses to ensure they remain operational. They also conduct visual inspections, record vehicle data, and maintain the cleanliness of the fueling station area.

Working with the Strathcona County Transit team, the Fuel Bay Attendant ensures transit buses are operational by dispensing gas and oil for buses, ensuring all fluids are at required levels and maintenance requirements are noted and met. This posting is for 2 hourly positions Key Responsibilities: * Dispensing fuel and oil into buses within the bus barns; checks radiators, fan belts, hoses and tires; checks fluid levels and products used; and record pertinent vehicle data such as kilometers and engine hours. * Record performed services on appropriate forms. * Perform general repairs on bus wash equipment to maintain its functionality * Perform exterior washing of transit vehicles as required * Cleaning and washing floors around the fueling station * Ensuring all fluid spills in the bus storage area are clean up as per OH&S requirements * Doing routine maintenance and repairs to bus washing equipment * Move vehicles as required for maintenance and servicing * Performing visual inspections of vehicles and reporting any deficiencies noted Qualifications and Skills: * High School Diploma with one year of work experience preferably within a heavy equipment fueling and maintenance industry * Exhibit initiative while fueling Transit vehicles and equipment in identifying potential defaults or other conditions which may cause buses to incur equipment break-down, and recording these defaults on defect sheets for Fleet maintenance to conduct corrective action * Detail orientated with excellent organizational and time management skills with sound decision making skills * Experience in a municipal setting is considered an asset * Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Conditions of Employment * Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check * Valid Alberta Class 2 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits * Ability to perform physical labour including standing/walking for extended periods of time * Ability to work casual hours Who We Are: Strathcona County is a specialized municipality located in the heart of Alberta.
