Yard and Shop Technician

YARD & SHOP TECHNICIAN JOIN OUR TEAM Are you hands-on, organized, and passionate about keeping equipment and operations running smoothly? Strathmore is looking for a reliable and motivated Yard & Shop Technician to support our operations team by maintaining equipment, organizing the yard and shop, and ensuring crews have everything they need to succeed in the field. This is a dynamic, full-time, year-round position ideal for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and working both indoors and outdoors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT YOU’LL DO SHOP & YARD OPERATIONS * Keep the shop and yard clean, organized, and safe * Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas * Assist with inventory organization and parts management * Receive, stock, and track new and used parts EQUIPMENT & VEHICLE SUPPORT * Perform basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment: * Oil changes * Fluid checks * Tire rotations * Equipment washing * Prepare equipment and tools for daily operations * Assist technicians with repairs, assembly, and troubleshooting FIELD & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT * Troubleshoot and complete quick repairs on irrigation systems and landscape equipment * Support turf care operations as needed * Transport equipment, vehicles, and machinery between job sites * Operate company vehicles including: * Trailers * Tractors * Loaders * Forklifts SAFETY & COMPLIANCE * Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections * Load and unload materials safely * Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness * Follow all company safety standards and procedures -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record (Class 1 or 3 is an asset) * Experience in a similar role * High school diploma * Forklift experience and certification considered an asset * Heavy equipment experience considered an asset * Strong work ethic and attention to detail * Team player with good organizational skills * Ability to work independently and perform physical work * Comfortable lifting up to 23 kg * Good communication skills in French and English (Bilingualism is an asset) * Comfortable using technology and software tools -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHY JOIN STRATHMORE? ✔ Full-time, year-round employment including winter ✔ Competitive salary ✔ Group benefits after 6 months ✔ Overtime paid at 1.5x regular rate ✔ Training and development opportunities ✔ Opportunities for growth and advancement Join a team where your work makes a real impact every day.

Maintain the shop and yard cleanliness while performing basic maintenance and repairs on vehicles and irrigation equipment. Support field operations by transporting machinery and managing inventory to ensure crews have necessary tools.

Requires a high school diploma and a valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean record. Experience in a similar role and the ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 23 kg, is essential.
