pharmacy assistant

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Pharmacy or drugstore. Tasks: Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate. Help pharmacists. Maintain prescription records . Prepare medications for clients. Set up and dismantle equipment. Help with scheduling and workflow. Bill third party insurers. Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams. Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products. Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation. Maintain inventory of equipment. Perform general clerical duties. Order supplies and equipment. Organize and maintain inventory. Schedule and confirm appointments. Maintain, update and manage health information databases. Maintain adequate stock levels. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Word processing software. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Attention to detail.
