Role Description The Hotel Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Inn & Suites, which is scheduled to transition to a TownePlace Suites by Marriott following a comprehensive renovation. The successful candidate will ensure the property delivers an exceptional guest experience while maintaining operational excellence, service quality, and profitability throughout the transition and beyond. This role manages front office and housekeeping teams, coordinates maintenance needs, and monitors service standards to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction. The Hotel Operations Manager supervises staff scheduling, training, and performance, while ensuring compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and company policies. The role also involves analyzing operational metrics, managing budgets, supporting revenue and cost-control initiatives, and collaborating with senior leadership to improve processes. The Hotel Operations Manager serves as a primary point of contact for guest issues, resolving concerns promptly and professionally. Qualifications & Requirements Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset. Minimum 3-5 years of hotel operations or hospitality management experience. Strong operations management experience overseeing multiple hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional guest service and drive guest satisfaction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Solid understanding of hotel brand standards, health and safety regulations, labour management, and financial controls. Experience using Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and other hospitality software. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work on-site full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally required. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
