Description Bourgeau Attendants provide an outstanding experience for our guests. They are responsible for directing all traffic control for arriving vehicles as well as answering any guest queries. They also maintain the parking lots and surrounding areas by plowing snow and removing garbage. This is a physical position that requires heavy lifting and long periods of standing. Attendants report to the Bourgeau Services Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor, and liaise frequently with Vehicle Maintenance, Transportation, all base area departments, vendors, and manufacturers. Job Functions Monitoring of Bourgeau base area, parking lot and Sunshine Access Road. Routine maintenance of the parking lot areas as needed, including maintaining cleanliness and mitigating hazards and safety concerns e.g., water control, snow management, walkways. Traffic control in and out of the lot, including coordinating the parking of vehicles. Assisting with waste/material pickup and disposal for the entire resort e.g., recycling, domestic garbage, and industrial waste. Performing routine pickups/drop offs in the local area e.g., equipment, supplies, mail. Perform commercial vehicle/equipment inspections/basic maintenance as needed. Timely and accurate incident/deficiencies reporting to appropriate departments/personnel. Other duties may be requested and assigned. Experience/Requirements Passion for providing outstanding guest service. Must be over age of 21 upon commencement of position to meet insurance requirements. Additional insurance requirements include providing a clean driver’s abstract and proof of an Alberta Drivers’ License (within 90 days of becoming an Alberta resident). Please note: any fees for obtaining an Alberta Driver’s license are incurred by the applicant. Outgoing, self motivated, positive, social, and mature attitude. Effective time management. Calm under pressure and patient. Prepared to work flexible schedules e.g., weekends, holidays, nights, extended hours. Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally. Must be alert, punctual, and dependable. Prior physical outdoor experience or operating machinery is an asset. Must enjoy working outdoors and be willing to work in all weather conditions. Additional Considerations Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, walking on even and uneven surfaces, constant trunk rotation, frequent lifting (up to 25kg), pushing/pulling (up to 45kg), kneeling, crouching. Occasionally climb inclined stairs and ladders up to 4m. Hiking and moving around in an alpine environment. This role maintains/operates machinery, off road/highway vehicles, and works around moving equipment. Candidates may be required to provide their own transportation to the resort base. Candidates are required to provide and maintain CSA approved safety footwear. Required outdoor uniform pieces (High Visibility Jacket/Pants, liner, toque) are provided. This role has potential exposure to industrial chemicals e.g., Fuels, grease, oil, ice melt. This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook, Policy Manual, and Employment Standards Code.
