Surepoint is seeking a highly skilled, safety-driven Journeyman and Experienced 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians with a strong background in industrial maintenance and reliability. In this role, your primary focus will be ensuring the long-term health, accuracy, and optimization of our instrumentation systems and production equipment. Please Note: This is a local position. Candidates must reside in or be within a commutable distance to Grande Prairie, AB. To fit your lifestyle and professional preferences, we are offering flexible engagement options (Contract vs. Employee) and multiple shift rotations. Whether you prefer the steady routine of a 5/2 schedule or the extended time off of an 8/6 rotation, we have a spot for you. Key Responsibilities Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) programs and calibration schedules on facility instrumentation, control systems, and final control elements. Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose, isolate, and repair complex loops, communication network faults, and equipment malfunctions to ensure optimal facility runtime. Calibrations & Critical Controls: Calibrate, test, and configure electronic, pneumatic, and digital instruments using advanced test equipment and tools like HART Communicators. Safety & Detection Systems: Maintain, function-test, and calibrate critical life-safety systems, including Gas Detection, LEL Detection, and Fire Detection controllers and sensors. Facility Equipment Optimization: Support and optimize process control infrastructure including compressor panels, RTUs, BMS, line heaters, and related production equipment. Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to apprentices, sharing best practices for maintenance precision and safe work isolation procedures. Qualifications Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician designation is required. Strong background in industrial maintenance, turnaround execution, and daily facility operations. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities with a deep understanding of process loops, loop tuning, and control logic. Valid industry safety tickets (H2S Alive, First Aid, Common Safety Orientation) are highly preferred. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
