Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation Perks: Benefits, RRSP/TFSA Matching Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions Requirements: Personal Reliable Vehicle CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support Clean Driver’s Abstract, Valid Driver’s License Pre-employment: Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test) Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation Lead Hand Responsibilities: Helping pipelayers keep pipe on grade by reading grade sheets and taking shots. Setting up batter boards. Assist with leading the crews. Assist with cutting and beveling pipe. Rigging for pipe and man hole lifts. Doing the prep work ahead of the crew, track line. Keeping track of tools. Keeping the crews moving forward with the work. Relating the foreman's directions to the crew. Involved in daily production requirements. Involved in daily tool box and safety meetings. Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. The Lead Hand assists in directing crews and ensuring pipe installation meets grade specifications by reading grade sheets and setting up batter boards. They are also responsible for overseeing daily production, managing tools, and promoting a culture of safety on the job site.

Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as a Lead Hand in water and sewer construction and proficiency in shooting grades. A valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions are required.
