Overview Scraper/ Buggy Operator Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week Perks: Benefits, RRSP/TFSA Matching Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions Requirements: Personal Reliable Vehicle CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support Minimum 1 year operating a scraper (push-pull & auger) Pre-employment: Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test) Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation Scraper Operators Responsibilities: Minimum One (1) year experience operating a Scraper (Push-pull & Auger) Operate scraper controls to regulate the height of the blade and bowl to shape and contour the site. Operate the Scraper in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower terrain to specified grade, following markings on grade stakes or hand signals. Ensure scraper/ buggies are in proper gear, and is not moving too fast for working conditions. Ensures proper use of the cushion hitch while operating the scraper. Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings. Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Operate scraper controls to shape and contour construction sites according to grade stakes and roadway plans. Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently while adhering to company safety protocols.

Requires a minimum of one year of experience operating push-pull and auger scrapers. Candidates must possess a reliable personal vehicle and CSA-approved steel-toed boots.
