(SPL) is an Alberta-based, full-service construction firm specializing in general construction, design-build, and construction management services. SPL is focused on the commercial construction market, including major and structural construction and tenant improvements, and has been in business for more than 30 years as the original construction arm within SGC. Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Join Our Team! Are you an estimator who enjoys building accurate, competitive bids and contributing to successful commercial construction projects? Synergy Projects is looking for an Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the estimating process across a variety of commercial and institutional projects, working closely with senior estimators, project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients. This position is ideal for someone looking to deepen their estimating expertise while growing in a collaborative and supportive environment. What You’ll Do Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for commercial and institutional construction projects Assist with full estimates across multiple project types, ranging in size and complexity Read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings and specifications, including quantity take‑offs Support pre‑construction planning, scope reviews, schedules, and cost plans Participate in the tendering process, including subcontractor pricing, bid comparisons, and clarifications Review contract documents and assist with understanding indirect costs, bonding, and insurance requirements Maintain accurate estimating data and historical cost information Provide detailed estimate summaries to project and operations teams Communicate with subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the estimating process Participate in client meetings and presentations as required Team focused approach Additional Requirements Weekend work as required. Out-of-town work as required. Other duties as assigned. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in Construction, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3–7 years of experience in estimating or a related construction role within commercial construction Experienced with fixed‑price tenders and budgeting for private and public sector projects Solid understanding of estimating techniques and construction cost drivers Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel‑based estimating), estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff) and scheduling tools (MS Project) Professional designations such as CET, Gold Seal, or P.Eng. are considered assets Working Conditions Busy environment with peak workloads leading up to tender closings Extended periods of computer and desk work Collaboration through meetings with internal teams and external partners Why You’ll Love Working With Us You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative, and growth‑focused team that values learning, contribution, and shared success.
