Job Description Please note: this role can be supported remotely from within the Southern Ontario area. Optimal support areas are in the Kingsville and Leamington areas. The role will support a region that includes Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. To support this challenge, Syngenta is currently seeking an Agronomist AGH Solanaceae in the Leamington, Ontario area. This role will support the Global Technical Expert in developing and executing trials for protected cultivation varieties, focusing on data collection, analysis and supporting variety advancement decisions to accelerate commercial success through extrapolation of crop management insights for growers. Accountabilities: Trial Management Support planning and execution of PLC6 trials in glasshouse conditions Implement trial protocols according to established procedures Assess trials and collect trial data Monitor crop development and document growth stages Ensure proper trial maintenance and crop management Process and analyze trial data Prepare technical reports and presentations Document variety performance characteristics Technical Support Assist in developing crop-specific management protocols Document best practices for variety cultivation Support variety positioning recommendations Identify critical success factors for variety performance Stakeholders Management Work closely with customers, senior technical experts, breeders and BTS Coordinate with breeding and commercial teams Support grower demonstrations and field days Qualifications Required Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field Experience in protected cultivation Knowledge of greenhouse production systems Understanding of plant physiology and crop management Desired Qualifications: Experience with hydroponic systems Knowledge of climate control systems Familiarity with crop management technologies Understanding of plant breeding concept Experience with data collection Additional Information We offer a competitive base salary and annual incentive bonus potential combined with challenging and meaningful work, learning and career development opportunities and a great team environment.
