T-Rex Solutions is looking to select a Java Architect to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) EDOS program. The overall mission of this program is to modernize the IRS legacy Tax processing systems and is critical to the overall modernization of the IRS to improve taxpayer experience, increase voluntary compliance, and reduce the IRS’s reliance on costly and unsustainable legacy technology. Responsibilities: Identify performance improvement opportunities within the Java code base, prototype alternatives, and assist in implementing proven solutions. Create design documents for Java code that is currently written in IBM Assembler. Review code for thread safe, code quality, and security violations. Analyze/improve Spring Batch throughput. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of experience developing applications in Java US Citizenship required Must possess an active IRS MBI Clearance and have current GFE Prior hands-on experience with Spring Batch and Spring Boot required Experience with object-oriented and aspect-oriented design and development Experience with Json and Annotation Prior experience running Java under Unix Systems Services a plus Demonstrated ability to seek out information (proactive learning) Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team. In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $185,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
