Position Summary Tacten is seeking Level 1 Rope Access Journeyperson Electricians to support our client site in Fort McMurray, AB. As a Rope Access Electrician, you will be a key member of our team responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety. Position Information: Start date: September, 2026 Site: Syncrude Shift: 14/14 or 7/7 rotation, 12-hour shifts IRATA Level 1 ticket required, or willingness to obtain Candidates must be local to Fort McMurray, AB or willing to relocate Responsibilities Perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in industrial environments using rope access techniques. Install and connect motors, transformers, control panels, wiring, and other electrical components in difficult-to-access areas. Conduct inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Diagnose electrical issues and replace faulty components while working at height or in restricted-access areas. Complete electrical terminations, testing, and commissioning in accordance with applicable codes and client requirements. Safely rig, transport, and use tools and equipment while working from rope systems. Follow all rope access, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and site-specific safety procedures. Work closely with other trades and site personnel to complete projects safely and efficiently. Requirements Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Electrician Required IRATA Level 1 ticket required, or willingness to obtain Industrial electrical and splicing experience required Resides locally to the Fort McMurray, AB CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients Exceptional safety and quality awareness Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level We appreciate your interest in a career at Tacten, however only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further information.
