Détails du poste

Estimator – ICI / Water & Wastewater Construction Peak Construction Ltd. – Colborne, Ontario Salary: $110,000–$120,000+, depending on experience Peak Construction Ltd. is seeking an Estimator to join its team in Colborne, Ontario. This is a strong opportunity for an estimator looking to build a long-term career with an established contractor delivering technically challenging water and wastewater, heavy concrete, and ICI construction projects. The company is open to candidates at different stages of their estimating career. An estimator with approximately 5+ years of experience who has a strong foundation and wants to continue developing would be well suited, while more senior candidates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will ideally bring a good understanding of concrete construction, structural work, civil/ICI construction, or water and wastewater projects. For someone earlier in their career, Peak offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced leadership, develop their technical estimating capabilities, and grow into increasingly senior responsibilities over time. Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for water and wastewater, heavy concrete, structural and ICI construction projects. Review drawings, specifications, tender documents and addenda to establish project scope. Complete quantity take-offs and develop labour, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing. Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers. Prepare tender packages, bid submissions and supporting documentation. Identify project risks, scope gaps, constructability considerations and potential cost-saving opportunities. Assist with bid leveling, scope reviews and subcontractor comparisons. Work closely with project management and field teams to ensure estimates reflect practical construction methodology. Participate in preconstruction meetings, tender reviews and project handovers. Maintain historical cost information and support improvements to estimating systems and processes. Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and other industry partners. Take on increasing responsibility within the estimating function as experience and capabilities develop. Qualifications Approximately 5+ years of construction estimating experience is preferred; candidates with both intermediate and senior-level experience will be considered. Experience with a general contractor, civil contractor or similar construction environment. Strong knowledge of concrete construction is highly desirable. Experience estimating water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, heavy concrete structures, municipal infrastructure or ICI superstructure projects would be an asset. Candidates coming from broader ICI construction backgrounds will also be considered where they have strong structural or concrete experience. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and civil drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of construction costs, scopes of work, subcontractor pricing and tendering. Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Comfortable managing multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office. Why Join Peak Construction? This position offers more than an immediate estimating opportunity. Peak is looking for someone who can become an important part of the business over the long term. For an intermediate estimator, there is an opportunity to learn directly from experienced construction professionals and develop into a senior estimator and future leader within the company. For a more experienced candidate, the position provides the ability to take ownership of significant tenders and contribute to the continued growth of Peak's estimating and preconstruction operations. Compensation: $110,000–$120,000+, depending on experience.
