Role Description The AV Technician & Audio Operator role is a contract, on-site position based in Kingston, ON. In this role, the technician sets up, operates, and strikes audio equipment for events, ensuring all systems function smoothly before and during live productions. Day-to-day tasks include configuring AV systems, aligning projectors and displays, managing microphones and soundboards, monitoring audio levels, and other supporting needs. The technician collaborates closely with event organizers, production leads, and other crew members to respond to real-time technical issues and maintain a professional, safe working environment. This role may involve variable hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules. We are looking for: STAGEHANDS, AV TECHNICIANS, AUDIO TECHNICIANS ONLY. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including setup, operation, and integration of equipment. Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting of technical issues under time-sensitive, live-event conditions. Previous experience in live events, festival, theater, broadcasting, or corporate AV environments. Ability to lift and move equipment safely, and comfort working on ladders or in varied venue conditions. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused approach and professional demeanor. Familiarity with health and safety protocols and basic electrical safety is an asset. Access to reliable transportation to on-site event locations in and around Kingston, ON.
