Location: Logan Lake, BC, Canada Employment Type: Regular Full Time Workplace Type: On-site About Highland Valley Copper Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation. Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences. Role Overview Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, Welders are responsible for repairing and maintaining site structures and equipment in a shop or field environment. Key Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures. Maintain and repair site structures and equipment in all areas of the Mill. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications. Operate welding equipment, flame cutting, hoisting, and lifting equipment. Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Qualifications Interprovincial Red Seal & Welder “A” Ticket BC PWP 7 is an asset High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent Minimum four years’ welding experience in an industrial environment. A valid driver’s license Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Hourly Wage: $56.61 Working Conditions Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere. Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members. Exigences
