A significant component of this assignment will involve assessing the current implementation, identifying technical debt and operational risks, and determining where the solution can be simplified or improved through configuration, redesign, automation, or greater use of standard Business Central functionality. The consultant will also support knowledge transfer from existing vendors and help establish the documentation, governance, support processes, and technical capabilities required to operate Business Central successfully over the long term. Key Responsibilities Conduct a technical assessment of the existing Business Central implementation, including configurations, customizations, integrations, automations, documentation, environments, and operational support procedures. Identify technical debt, integration dependencies, operational risks, control gaps, supportability concerns, and opportunities to improve or simplify the solution. Recommend and implement remediation, stabilization, optimization, governance, and automation improvements. Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Business Central configurations, AL extensions, customizations, APIs, web services, reports, and related solutions. Work closely with Finance to support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking, payment processing, EFT, dimensions, posting groups, approval workflows, financial reporting, and security configurations. Troubleshoot posting, configuration, processing, data, performance, and integration issues. Validate Business Central functionality against approved requirements, process documentation, design specifications, controls, and audit expectations. Develop and optimize integrations, APIs, data mappings, synchronization processes, scheduled jobs, workflows, and automation. Support data migration, validation, reconciliation, and the resolution of data-quality issues. Provide defect triage, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, stabilization, environment management, deployment support, and release management. Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, and smoke testing. Develop and validate business and technical test scenarios, test data, expected results, traceability, and supporting evidence. Support cutover and rollback planning, deployment readiness, go/no-go assessments, go-live activities, and hypercare. Monitor system and integration performance and assist with the resolution of critical production issues. Build and maintain application logging and diagnostic capabilities for customizations. Develop technical and configuration documentation, support procedures, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials. Work with external vendors to transition technical and operational knowledge to the internal team. Help establish a sustainable Business Central support model and strengthen internal support capabilities. Required Qualifications Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. At least seven years of experience implementing, developing, supporting, or leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV solutions. Strong hands-on Business Central development experience, including AL development, extensions, customizations, APIs, web services, debugging, and administration. Demonstrated experience assessing, stabilizing, and supporting Business Central implementations. Strong experience with integrations, automation, data migration, deployments, release management, and post-go-live support. Experience conducting solution assessments and identifying technical debt, operational risks, integration issues, and supportability concerns. Strong knowledge of Business Central Finance functionality, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking, EFT, financial reporting, dimensions, approval workflows, posting groups, and internal controls. Experience supporting go-live, hypercare, operational transition, and vendor-transition activities. Experience with integration architecture, data mapping, synchronization, APIs, workflows, and scheduled-process automation. Experience with Azure DevOps, Git or other source-control tools, environment management, deployments, and release management. Strong SQL skills, including data integration, transformation, migration, validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
