TESC is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead the development of accurate, competitive, and fully scoped estimates across industrial construction projects. This role is accountable for assembling and delivering complete estimates and supporting bid strategy execution. The role may specialize in one or more disciplines to support multi‑trade bids. What You’ll Do Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine scope Prepare detailed estimates, including labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing Identify scope gaps, risks, and constructability considerations Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations Develop estimate summaries and ensure completeness of submissions Support and lead estimate reviews with internal stakeholders Coordinate with project teams, clients, and support functions to ensure alignment Participate in pre-tender meetings, bid closings, and post-bid analysis Maintain cost databases and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices Coordinating the full estimate process, including scope, pricing, and submission requirements when assigned as lead on an estimate Identifying and evaluating risks that may impact cost or execution Supporting bid strategy and ensuring pricing reflects project conditions Mentoring associate estimators and contributing to team development. What You Bring Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field 5+ years of estimating experience (industrial construction preferred) Experience in at least one of the following disciplines is required: Civil: earthworks, excavation, concrete, drainage; interpreting civil drawings/specs; quantities, equipment, and productivity assumptions, Structural: structural steel and/or concrete; reading structural drawings/details; fabrication/erection sequencing; labour/equipment take-offs and pricing. Mechanical: mechanical systems/equipment installation; interpreting drawings/specs; install methods and coordination; labour/material pricing and constructability considerations. Piping: isometrics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specs; fabrication vs field install, testing; weld counts, supports, labour/productivity, and congestion impacts. Electrical & Instrumentation: cable and tray/conduit, terminations, devices/loops; interpreting drawings/schematics; installation/testing/commissioning allowances. Experience across multiple disciplines is considered a strong asset Experience working in a trade union environment is considered an asset Strong understanding of construction methods, costs, and contract considerations Ability to independently develop complete estimates and manage deadlines Proficiency in Excel; experience with estimating and scheduling tools considered an asset Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills What We Offer You At TESC, we recognize that great people build great projects.
