Sr. Java Developer with PHP development exp(Toronto, ON- Hybrid)

Role: Sr. Java Developer with PHP development exp Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days a week) Duration: 6+months JD for PHP/Java (Backend Engineer): 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT industry with good experience in JAVA/J2EE and restful web-services development. Significant coding experience with object-oriented PHP and any modern PHP framework is highly preferred. Otherwise, candidates must possess a demonstrated ability to onboard onto new languages rapidly. Strong backend experience is critical to this role and security expertise is a plus. Comfortable working with and improving upon legacy systems and code as you are building new features and applications. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience with databases directly, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL, and how they are addressed by the application. Experience with injection frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot is a must. Must have solid experience with Java stack and build tools like GIT, tools for code quality and coverage. Should have experience working on AWS cloud environments. Experience developing new and enhancing existing features as well as investigating and resolving defects. Experience in Designing and developing web-based applications and backend services. Adhere to internal coding standards, development processes, and design best practices. Ensure quality by performing thorough testing and leveraging peer reviews for your work and the work of others. Experience with unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD). Experience with Agile development process and Scrum methodologies using JIRA. Solid communication and written skills: ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Must Have skills: Strong PHP/java skills, security management, session management and performance of web applications.

The role involves developing new features and applications while improving legacy systems and code. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring quality through thorough testing and peer reviews.

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE and PHP development, with strong backend experience and familiarity with databases. Experience with AWS cloud environments and Agile methodologies is also required.
