Role Description The Container Drayage Scheduler/Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This role is responsible for planning and scheduling daily container drayage operations, assigning loads to drivers, and coordinating pick-ups and deliveries from rail yards, and customer facilities. The scheduler/dispatcher monitors driver progress, updates schedules as needed, and communicates changes clearly to drivers and customers. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate records in dispatch systems, resolving operational issues, collaborating with yard staff to optimize container movements, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance requirements. The role also involves regular communication with customers to confirm appointments, address service inquiries, and support efficient logistics execution. Qualifications Experience in container drayage operations, ideally in a dispatch or scheduling capacity. Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent trips. Effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, yard staff, and customers in a clear and professional manner. Proficiency with dispatch or transportation management systems, and solid general computer skills. Knowledge of local rail and container terminals, and regional routes within Ontario is must. Attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation, appointments, and container status updates. Ability to work on-site in Brampton, ON, and collaborate as part of a team-focused, safety-oriented environment.
