Independent Carpentry & Framing Subcontractor – Multi‑Residential Renovations Location: Port Elgin, ON (and surrounding area) Position Type: Independent Contractor / Project‑Based Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpentry & Framing Subcontractor to support ongoing multi‑residential apartment renovation projects in the Port Elgin area. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with strong experience in rough carpentry, framing, and interior construction. All work is assigned using a pre‑approved pricing structure—no quoting or estimating required—along with consistent bi‑weekly payments. Scope of Work The subcontractor will be responsible for carpentry and framing work related to apartment turnovers and renovations, including but not limited to: Interior framing (walls, bulkheads, soffits, partition layouts) Repair and modification of existing framing Installation of backing for cabinets, vanities, and fixtures Door and window framing adjustments Subfloor repair and minor structural carpentry (non‑engineered) Installation of trim, baseboards, and basic finish carpentry (as required) Preparation of units for drywall, electrical, and plumbing trades Reading and working from basic drawings and scopes of work Coordination with site supervisors and other trades Ensuring all work meets Ontario Building Code and site safety requirements Pricing & Payment Structure (Important) All work is completed using a pre‑approved, fixed price list Scopes are issued with clear line items and standard pricing No job‑by‑job quoting or estimating required Additional work outside standard scope must be pre‑approved Consistent bi‑weekly payments based on completed and approved work Requirements Proven experience in carpentry and framing (residential or multi‑unit projects preferred) Strong understanding of framing techniques, layout, and structural awareness Ability to complete scopes efficiently and meet renovation timelines High standard of workmanship and attention to detail Valid WSIB coverage and general liability insurance Own tools (framing and finish carpentry tools), PPE, and reliable transportation Ability to work professionally in occupied and vacant residential units Preferred Qualifications Experience in apartment renovations or property‑managed portfolios Ability to handle both rough and light finish carpentry Strong communication and coordination skills Familiarity with fast‑paced turnover schedules Availability for ongoing and repeat work What We Offer Steady carpentry and framing work within a consistent renovation pipeline Pre‑approved pricing — no quoting required Reliable bi‑weekly pay Clear scopes of work and organized scheduling Long‑term subcontractor relationship Projects primarily located in Port Elgin and surrounding areas How to Apply Interested subcontractors are invited to submit: A brief overview of carpentry and framing experience Examples of previous work (photos or references preferred) Proof of WSIB coverage and insurance You can also apply by filling out the interest form on the link provided below: BYNG Trade INTAKE Form 2026
