Résumé du poste
For over two decades, the Cappies, www.cappies.com, has had the privilege of celebrating the extraordinary talents of high school theatre students and student critics across North America. As our organization continues to grow and inspire young artists, strong operational leadership behind the scenes is vital to our mission. Following the departure of our previous treasurer, we are grateful to our interim treasurer for stepping in to ensure a smooth transition. We are now actively searching for a voluntary Board Treasurer to join the Cappies Inc. Governing Board on a longer-term basis. About the Role & Opportunity This position is an impactful way for a finance or accounting professional to give back to the arts and youth education. Clean & "Plug-and-Play" Books: Our financial records are fully up-to-date and organized in QuickBooks. The incoming treasurer will step into a well-maintained, operational system—not a rescue project. Oversight Focus: The role centers on high-level fiduciary stewardship, budget oversight, financial reporting for board meetings, and ensuring annual compliance (e.g., 501(c)(3) filings). Day-to-day data entry and routine transaction tracking are streamlined and automated. Flexible Time Commitment: The estimated commitment is approximately 3 to 5 hours per month, primarily around monthly board meetings and quarterly financial updates. How You Can Help We encourage members of our community to help us find the right candidate: Consider Volunteering: If you have a background in accounting, finance, or non-profit administration, we would love to speak with you! Tap into Alumni & Parent Networks: Do you know Cappies alumni, theatre parents, or community members who are CPAs, CFPs, or financial professionals? Please share this opportunity with them. If you or someone you know might be interested in supporting high school arts journalism and theatre in this capacity, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected] Thank you for your continued dedication to the Cappies community! Warmly, Katie Lewis-Prieur Cappies Inc. Governing Board
