THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a Casual Recreation Aide to join our The Mayfair Senior Living + Care in Abbotsford, B.C. What is in for you? Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc. Assists residents to and from programs as required. Assists encourage and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required. Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse. Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor. Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records. Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants. Requirements Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset. Basic First Aid Certificate (Current). The Recreation Aide facilitates various social and physical programs for residents and assists with their daily participation. They are also responsible for documenting resident changes and maintaining recreational equipment in a safe and clean manner.

Candidates must hold a recognized Activity or Recreation certificate or diploma. A current Basic First Aid certificate and Food Safe course are also required.
