We are looking for a Recreation Aide to join our Point Grey Private Hospital team in Vancouver, B.C.! Shift: Full-time - Saturday & Sunday | 8:30 am - 4:30 pm What does a Recreation Aide do? Implements recreation programs which include activities such as outings, parties, exercises, crafts and entertainment. Organizes resident activities and trips outside the facility while ensuring that the residents have proper clothing and necessary equipment for the activity, confirms details of the proposed activity with nursing/administration staff, coordinates the movement of residents during the activity and teaches the techniques of the related activity. Consults with family and nursing staff in order to determine the activities which meet the residents’ needs. Designs an appropriate variety of recreation programs tailored to resident needs. Monitors and evaluates resident progress through activity programs and reports observations such as emotional wellbeing and social behavior to nursing staff as required. Maintains Inventory of equipment, tools and materials and reports malfunctioning equipment and supply needs to the appropriate staff. Qualifications: Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program. Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset. Health Care Provider level First Aid Certificate (Current). Proof of COVID vaccination. About us: Point Grey Private Hospital is located in Vancouver’s ocean-side community of Kitsilano.Point Grey, significantly expanded and improved in 2020, offers 153 licensed residential care beds consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Point Grey boasts views of the mountains and ocean as well as large windows and homelike furnishings. This home has four stories with a dining area, recreation areas and a large outdoor patio on each floor. The desirable location and freshly decorated interior provides our clients with a comfortable and homelike environment. Point Grey Private Hospital works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to offer funded beds but also has five private pay rooms available. #chsj
