Jim Pattison Hyundai Northshore is seeking an experienced Level 4 Apprentice or Red Seal Certified Technician to join our Service Department. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, performance, and reliability. As a Hyundai Service Technician, you’ll apply your technical knowledge and attention to detail to accurately diagnose vehicle concerns, perform repairs, and ensure every vehicle leaves the dealership operating safely and efficiently. You’ll take pride in delivering quality workmanship, working effectively within a professional and supportive team, and contributing to an exceptional customer experience. Your commitment to quality service and technical excellence will play an important role in our continued success. A Day in the Life Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment What We’re Looking For Level 4 Apprentice Technician or Red Seal Certified, or candidates who are currently eligible and actively pursuing Red Seal certification Previous experience as an automotive technician is required A valid BC Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and dependable Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness Ability to work in an automotive shop environment Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation) What We Offer Competitive wages Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and insurance Unlimited opportunities for advancement, growth, and development Manufacturer led training opportunities Access to exclusive corporate discount programs Recognition and rewards programs A great team atmosphere and a positive, supportive working environment How to Apply If this sounds like a great fit, please apply with your resume today!
