Audi Edmonton North is looking for an experienced Lead Service Technician to join our growing Service Department. In this position, you’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop and helping the technician team succeed. You’ll use your technical knowledge and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex vehicle concerns, complete repairs to a high standard, and ensure all work meets manufacturer and dealership requirements. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in their work and is comfortable sharing their knowledge with others. A Day in the Life Lead, mentor, and support a team of technicians to achieve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards Serve as the primary technical resource for the shop, assisting technicians with complex mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns Review and support technician repair plans to ensure accurate diagnoses and efficient repair processes Monitor shop workflow and help prioritize repairs to maximize productivity and meet customer expectations Conduct quality control checks on completed repairs to ensure workmanship meets dealership and manufacturer standards Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate repair recommendations, vehicle status updates, and estimated completion times Assist in training, coaching, and developing technicians, apprentices, and new team members Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and recommendations for required repairs and maintenance Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and operating properly before delivery to customers Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure timely procurement and availability of required parts Support warranty repair processes by ensuring repairs are completed according to manufacturer guidelines and documentation requirements Maintain manufacturer compliance and stay current on technical service bulletins, recalls, and new vehicle technologies Promote and enforce safe work practices, company policies, and dealership procedures Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture within the service department What We’re Looking For Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification is required Minimum 5+ years of automotive dealership technician experience required Previous experience as an Audi or Volkswagen Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, or Senior Technician is preferred Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, hybrid, and electronic vehicle systems Strong understanding of manufacturer repair procedures, warranty requirements, and dealership operations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments Proven ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to repair quality and customer satisfaction Proficient with dealership management systems, manufacturer service platforms, and diagnostic equipment A valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract are required Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles Reliable, punctual, and dependable Ability to work independently while supporting overall team success Working Conditions Ability to work in an automotive dealership service department environment Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays and specialized diagnostic equipment Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching throughout the workday Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds Temperature can vary throughout the year despite heating and ventilation systems What We Offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and insurance coverage Manufacturer-sponsored training and certification opportunities Career growth and advancement opportunities within a growing dealership group Access to exclusive corporate discount programs Recognition and rewards programs Modern facility with advanced diagnostic tools and equipment A great team atmosphere and a positive, supportive working environment How to Apply If this sounds like a great fit, please apply with your resume today!
